Threat Protection Global Parameters

You can specify the global parameters for threat protection.

Options in the Global Configuration page:

Force Check

Select the Enable check box to enable force check. With this function enabled, system will drop the traffic that requires detection if the detection cannot be properly implemented (for example, during signature database update or configuration update). By default this function is disabled, i.e., the traffic that requires detection can still pass through even if the detection cannot be properly implemented.

Max Decompression Layer:

By default system can scan the files of up to 5 decompression layers. To specify a decompression layer, select a value from the drop-down list. The value range is 1 to 5.

Exceed Action

Specifies an action for the compressed files that exceed the max decompression layer. Select an action from the drop-down list:

  • Log only - Only generates logs but will not scan the files. This action is enabled by default.
  • Reset connection - If virus has been detected, system will reset connections to the files.
Encrypted Compressed File

Specifies an action for encrypted compressed files:

  • ------ - Will not take any special anti-virus actions against the files, but might further scan the files according to the configuration.
  • Log only - Only generates logs but will not scan the files.
  • Reset connection - Resets connections to the files.

Signature List

Search: Specifies the filtering conditions and then click Search, the Signature List will show you the signatures that meet your requirements.

  • Save Selection As - Save the current filtering conditions to the system.
  • Search - Click Search, the Signature List will show you the signatures that meet your requirements.
  • Reset - Click Reset to reset all the searching conditions.

Enable: Select the signature you want to enable in the list and then click Enable.

Disable: Select the signature you want to disable in the list and then click Disable. System cannot detect the signature packet after it is disabled.
