Configuring Log

This section describes how to configure event log, alarm log, security log, IPS log, configuration log, network log, traffic log and NBC log.

Configure a Log

To configure a log, take the following steps:

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Log > Configuration > Log to visit the Log Configuration page.
  2. Click the tab of the log type you want. For information about how to configure each log, see Log Configuration Options.
  3. After finishing the configuration, click OK to save the settings.

Log Configuration Options

Click the link below to see option descriptions of the log.

Event Log

Enable: Select the check box to enable the event log function.

Facility: Specifies the UNIX syslog server. This option applies when syslog is configured to be sent to a UNIX syslog server.

Console: Select the check box to send syslog to Console.

Terminal: Select the check box to send syslog to the terminal.

Memory buffer: Select the check box to send syslog to the memory buffer.

File: Select the check box to send syslog to a file.

Syslog server: Select the check box to export event logs to the syslog server.

Email address: Select the check box to send event logs to the email.

OK: Save the settings.

Cancel: Cancel the settings.

Alarm Log

Enable: Select this check box to enable alarm log function.

Console: Select the check box to export alarm log messages to Console.

Terminal: Select the check box to export alarm logs to the terminal.

Memory buffer: Select the check box to export alarm logs to memory buffer.

File: Select the check box to send syslog to a file.

Syslog server: Select the check box to export alarm logs to the syslog server.

Email address: Select the check box to send alarm logs to the email.

OK: Save the settings.

Cancel: Cancel the settings.

Security Log

Enable: Select this check box to enable security log function.

Console: Select the check box to export security log messages to Console.

Terminal: Select the check box to export security logs to the terminal.

Memory buffer: Select the check box to export security logs to memory buffer.

File: Select the check box to send syslog to a file.

Syslog server: Select the check box to export security logs to the syslog server.

Email address: Select the check box to send security logs to the email.

OK: Save the settings.

Cancel: Cancel the settings.

IPS Log

Enable: Select this check box to enable IPS log function.

Console: Select the check box to export IPS log messages to Console.

Terminal: Select the check box to export IPS logs to the terminal.

Memory buffer: Select the check box to export IPS logs to memory buffer.

File: Select the check box to send syslog to a file.

Syslog server: Select the check box to export IPS logs to the syslog server.

Email address: Select the check box to send IPS logs to the email.

OK: Save the settings.

Cancel: Cancel the settings.

Configuration Log

Enable: Select the check box to enable configuration log function.

Console: Select the check box to export configuration log messages to Console.

Memory buffer: Select the check box to export configuration logs to memory buffer.

Syslog server: Select the check box to export configuration logs to the syslog server.

OK: Save the settings.

Cancel: Cancel the settings.

Network Log

Enable: Select the check box to enable network log function.

Console: Select the check box to export network log messages to Console.

Memory buffer: Select the check box to export network logs to memory buffer.

Syslog server: Select the check box to export network logs to the syslog server.

OK: Save the settings.

Cancel: Cancel the settings.

Traffic Log

Enable: Select the check box to enable traffic log function.

Console: Select the check box to export traffic log messages to Console.

Memory buffer: Select the check box to export traffic logs to memory buffer.

Syslog server: Select the check box to export traffic logs to the syslog server.

OK: Save the settings.

Cancel: Cancel the settings.

NBC Log

Enable: Select the check box to enable NBC log function.

Console: Select the check box to export NBC logs to Console.

Memory buffer: Select the check box to export NBC logs to memory buffer.

File: Select the check box to send syslog to a file.

Terminal: Select the check box to export NBC logs to the terminal.

Syslog server: Select the check box to export NBC logs to the syslog server.

Email address: Select the check box to send NBC logs to the email.

Local DB: Select the check box to export NBC logs to the local database. The local database uses SD card or storage expansion module as its storage media.

OK: Save the settings.

Cancel: Cancel the settings.
