Configuring a Syslog Server
Syslog server receives log messages sent to it.
Adding a Syslog Server
To add a syslog server, take the following steps:
- On the Navigation pane, click Log > Configuration > Syslog Server to visit the Syslog Server List page.
- Click New.
- In the Syslog Server Configuration dialog, type the hostname or IP address of the syslog server into the Host name box.
- From the VR drop-down list, select the VRouter of syslog server; or from the Src interface drop-down list, select the source interface from which logs are sent. The device will use the IP address of the interface as the source IP and send logs to the syslog server. If management IP address is configured on the interface, then the management IP address will be preferred.
- Select a protocol type from the Protocol drop-down list.
- Type the port number of the syslog server into the Port box.
- Select the log type(s) you want the server to receive.
- Click OK to save the settings.
Editing a Syslog Server
To edit the settings of a syslog server, take the following steps:
- On the Navigation pane, click Log > Configuration > Syslog Server to visit the Syslog Server List page.
- Select the syslog server you want to edit from the server list, and click Edit.
- Click OK to save the changes.
Deleting a Syslog Server
To delete a syslog server, take the following steps:
- On the Navigation pane, click Log > Configuration > Syslog Server to visit the Syslog Server List page.
- Select the syslog server you want to delete from the server list, and click Delete.
