DNS Cache

This section describes how to configure DNS cache.

When using DNS, a system might store the DNS mappings to its cache to speed up the query. There are three ways to obtain DNS mappings:

You can add static DNS mappings to cache, view DNS mappings and delete dynamic mappings.

To add a static DNS mapping to cache, take the following steps:

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Network > Network to visit the Network page.
  2. On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click DNS.
  3. On the Cache tab in the DNS List dialog, click New.
  4. In the DNS Cache Configuration dialog, configure options.
    • Host name: Specifies a host name.
    • Primary IP: Specifies host's IP addresses, up to 8. Type IP addresses in the IP address 2/3/4/5/6/7/8 boxes below as necessary.
    • OK: Saves the the changes and return to the previous dialog/page.
    • Cancel: Cancels the changes and returns to the previous dialog/page.
  5. Click OK to save your settings.

To edit a DNS mapping, take the following steps:

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Network > Network to visit the Network page.
  2. On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click DNS.
  3. On the Cache tab in the DNS List dialog, select the mapping you want to edit and click Edit. In the DNS Cache Configuration dialog, modify according to your need.
  4. Click OK to to save your changes.

To delete a DNS mapping, take the following steps:

  1. On the Navigation pane, click Configure > Network > Network to visit the Network page.
  2. On the Task tab in the right auxiliary pane, click DNS.
  3. On the Cache tab in the DNS List dialog, select the mapping you want to delete and click Delete.
