Extensible AV Solution The application processing modules supported by Hillstone Networks greatly protects users’ investment. The modules FEC-AV-30 and FEC-AV-60 could increase the AV processing capability of the appliance. By moving AV processing to application processing module, the processing capability of the main CPU itself is release. In this way, AV processing will never be the performance bottleneck. The performance of AV is improved about 100% with the use of FEC.

Fully Parallelized Stream Based Virus Scanning Engine The technology of traditional proxy based content security cannot meet the performance and capacity requirements as a gateway device. Hillstone Networks scanning engine is fully parallelized and stream base. Compare to traditional file-type AV gateway, the engine receives, scans and sends packets at once rather than scans packets after buffering and re-assembling all the packets of the file. The engine provides high performance, low latency, and high capacity processing ability, with no limit on size of the file and number of file. All content security related processing is completed in the unified content processing engine, ensuring high performance when multiple content security functions are turned on simultaneously, such as AV and IPS.
