Detailed information：
Hillstone SA-5050 is the highest platform in the SA series Gigabit appliance. It uses Hillstone’s Multi-core Plus hardware architecture, and seamlessly integrates multi-core processor, StoneASIC and high-performance switch fabric, resulted in high performance in different application environment. Even though it is only a 1U device, SA-5050 offers 6 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 6 combo ports (Gigabit Ethernet/SFP), providing strong network connectivity. Besides the firewall functionality, the appliance also provides AV, P2P/IM control, URL filter and QoS functionalities, greatly improves the network control capability. SA-5050 performance is excellent in our test. With AV enabled, 1000 firewall policy used and source NAT enabled, it can create 40,000 new HTTP sessions per second, and achieves a max throughput of up to 1.9Gbps. Under the above condition, and after enabling P2P/IM control function to block 4 applications, and enabling URL filter function to block 10 URL, the ramp-up number can still be over 30,000, with a max throughput of over 1.1Gbps. What’s more, when the peak performance is reached, the appliance was still able to response to common control requests from both WebUI and CLI. 。 |

SG-6000-G5150 is an UTM product announced by Hillstone Networks in 2009. This product is based on the new multi-core plus G2 architecture, enhances the switch-centered design. It offers 4 extensible slots, and supports multiple types of extensible modules to increase port density and processing capability on the device. The simultaneously released StoneOS 4.0 firmware supports the architecture with all functionalities processed in a fully paralleled fashion.
As an UTM product, SG-6000-5150 integrates multiple functions, including firewall, attack defense, VPN, AV, QoS, IPS, and network behavior control. Functionalities such as web posting content auditing make it a versatile security management device. The role and network behavior based control module is enhanced on SG-6000-5150. Compared with traditional IP and port model, usability and manageability is greatly improved. Inside log messages, administrator can see user information and application information directly, simplifies the analysis and auditing of the network events.
In the performance test, SG-6000-5150 shows strong capability. With FEC-AV-60 AV processing module, the AV function processing is switched to the extensible module automatically. In this configuration, the maximum HTTP performance benchmarked is 2125Mbps using 1MB .exe file. Turning on the IPS function, the maximum available HTTP performance benchmarked is 2106Mbps. It is clear that the AV application processing module improves the integrated performance of the platform. |
